He holds a PhD and works at the intersection of information technology, artificial intelligence, observation, and story. From his backyard in Louisiana he runs a long-term monitoring project that tracks songbird populations and habitat change using AI tools, cameras, and daily presence. The same attention to continuity, inheritance, and what endures across generations that shapes his bird garden also shapes his writing.

He has been writing for more than twenty years, mostly in academic settings: graduate work, technical publications, and the long practice of turning careful observation into clear prose.
